Region 18 Coordinator Congratulates Police Women for Peaceful Election
The IAWP Regional Coordinator Superintendent Patience Quaye has expressed gratitude and appreciation to the Ghana Police Service and the entire nation for ensuring a violence- free election.
The Regional Coordinator said the exercise had proved to the international community that the country (Ghana) was indeed a pacesetter and a beacon of democracy in Africa.
The Regional Coordinator thanked all the Ghana Police Women for their tireless efforts and said their main objective had been achieved since there had not been any reported incidence of violence during the election.
She also congratulated the nation for being calm during and after the elections.
Ghana Police Ladies for Peaceful Election 2012
The Ghana Police Service on Saturday organized a National Peace walk to create awareness on the need for peace, tolerance and peaceful co-existence among the citizenry.
The nationwide walk, which commenced on November 17, 2012 in the capital city and had run through the regional capital Greater Accra Region which ended at the forecourt of the Ghana Police Training School
The walk on the theme “Maintaining Peace is our Priority’ was embarked upon by members of POLAS and participants from selected Security Services.
The Officers appealed to the public to pledge, protect and preserve peace in the upcoming elections, saying “we must embrace each other to preach peace since Ghana was a role model to other African countries”.
